Design

During the design phase, I mapped out the content and how it would look and flow in a storyboard. It was important to consider the user experience from the start. I then used the storyboard to present and get approval from clients on things like wording and imagery. I also asked if the client had any specific requests for how their eLearning needed to operate, as this can affect the build in the next step.

I have worked on eLearnings which required translations.

Build

During the build phase, first, I found out what the client’s SCORM export requirements were. Then, I went ahead and built the eLearning based on the final, approved storyboard as well as any other specifications previously discussed with the client.

Good usability is key!

Test

Testing is crucial for working out the kinks. I always tested an eLearning myself first, then asked a colleague to test before sending it on to the client. Client testing does 3 things: Ensures the eLearning works inside their LMS, confirms that the content is what they want / how they want it, and makes sure the eLearning has good usability for their learners.
